Elsah, ILL. -- Principia played Lewis & Clark and won in three straight sets 25-19, 25-16. 25-21. The Panther defense was fluid and gritty doing a great job of keeping the ball flying and setting the stage for a quick attack. On the front row, the hitters were looking for every chance to take a hard swing at the ball and did just that with success.
Sophia Hathaway and
Noelle Shoemake led the offensive attack with 12 and 10 kills respectively, and
Mesa Goebel did a great job in the middle pounding balls and holding blockers for our pin hitters. The defensive success was a team win with everyone stepping up in new spots and moving as one to showcase quite a nice defensive transition to score off of.
That brings the Panthers to 9-4 on the season. Next up the team travels to Iowa Wesleyan on Monday in hopes of earning a season sweep.
