St. Louis, MO. -- Principia Volleyball faced another top level conference team tonight when they traveled to St. Louis to take on the Webster University Gorloks. The Panthers worked hard on their game plan, but still could not knock the Gorloks off their strong game. Principia fell to Webster 3-0.
A look at the match:
Principia worked to make the Gorloks scramble, hoping to create scoring opportunities. The Panthers serves and offense were very intentional, but they did not capitalize and score well enough to be competitive.
Good to know:
Nikki Matters and
Devon Marunde were the leaders tonight. Devon's athleticism and fight were extremely important when we ran into serve receive problems. She ran balls down and delivered great hittable balls. Devon picked up 9 digs and served tough for us!
Nikki passed well, covering a lot of court, and Nikki was smart and bold on offense. She led the team with 7 kills and 16 digs.
Next up:
Principia heads to Jacksonville to play MacMurray College on Thursday at 7pm before hosting Spalding for Homecoming this Saturday at noon.
