Eureka, ILL. -- Principia traveled to Eureka for the second match up of the season. The Panthers used a first ever lineup due to some challenges that had key players sidelined, and Coach Sprague shared, "I was so proud of the women. They each stepped out of their comfort zone and served the team in the way that we needed!" Principia eventually fell to those darn Red Devils, so they end up with a season split after beating them earlier.
Good to know:
Sarah Ungerleider posted a career high 17 kills, and made it a double double with her 16 digs.
Devon Marunde was such an impact for good in her usual role of setting, but also stepping up as a hitter. She was dynamite on the service line and served a team high three aces, and her defense has been so soulful as of late!
Mesa Goebel led offense in efficiency hitting .276 with nine kills, and really modeled the way with great communication and dynamic transition.
Greer Sprague and
Amanda Roberts stepped up on offense for the Panthers and Amanda helped run the offense with 12 assists. Greer had a career high 24 digs as well.
Jessica Bayne was a steady offensive presence with 13 kills and made it a double double with a team high 25 digs and added two aces as well.
Next up:
The Panthers have the weekend off and head to St Louis to take on Fontbonne University on Tuesday.
