Greenville, Il —
Principia women's team competes well in loss to Greenville. All the matches were close and the women showed great improvement over their last meeting with Greenville. We are looking forward to a rematch in the conference championships.
Paige Cooley continued her winning ways in both singles and doubles. In doubles, she only lost one game with her partner,
Gabby Kitchingman. In singles, Paige did not lose a game and continued her control of the match with her powerful serve and strong ground strokes.
Greer Sprague, Principia's #2 doubles and #3 singles, continued her winning also. She is the only other players who scored a double win against Greenville. Paige and Greer accounted for all four of the Principia matches.
Gabby Kitchingman, #2 singles, had match filled with long ground stroke rallies. Most of the games went back and forth in and out of deuce but Gabby came up short at the end of each set. She lost her serve in the final games.
Hallie Jones, #4 singles, had a tight match that also had many long rallies. It was great to see Hallie finishing points out at the net and closing points with her smashing overhead.
Sarah Switzer, #6 singles, had a tough match as well that could have gone either way.
Dani Lomascolo, #5 singles, had a tough match against a very steady player who was fast and returned almost everything. Each of the singles players are looking forward to working on their games and playing Greenville again.
The team's next match is Thursday at home against Blackburn. The match will start at 4:45 PM. We look forward to your support at the match. Complete match scores are below.
