Panthers finish their season with a close match against Westminster. Principia earned the final point with a straight set win by
Dani Lomascolo, #5 singles. Dani played an all court game and finished many of her points at the net. She was very consistent from the baseline. Principia also won #1 singles and #3 singles.
Paige Cooley closed out her college regular season career with another strong display of serves and ground strokes.
Greer Sprague completed her season with another decisive win. She played steady tennis.
Hallie Jones, #4 singles, almost came back in the second set after the first set slipped away. She was down 5-1 in the second set and evened the score at 5-5 with strong ground strokes and big serves.
Caroline Carlson, #6 singles, played one of her best match of the season. She used her forceful backhand to even the sets at 5-5 but fell short.
Principia won first and second doubles to take the lead in the match.
Paige Cooley and
Gabby Kitchingman were dominate at first doubles and finished without losing a game. Greer and Hallie, #2 doubles, played a strong match setting each other up at the net.
The Panthers have earned a second place seeding in the conference championships. The first match will be the semis on Friday at 2 PM. Come out to Dwight Davis Tennis Stadium in Forrest Park and support the team.
