Lincoln, ILL. -- Principia College Panthers traveled to Lincoln, IL to take on the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions in a non-conference matchup. The Panthers featured
Aleq McMullin on the mound for game one. After a quick first inning, the Panthers got to work in the top of the second. Strong worked a walk and stole second before he was singled in by
Chris Stamos. McMullin, who walked, was driven in on a sac fly by
Alex Stamos to take a 2-0 lead. The Panthers added more in the top of the third.
Zach Grennie hit his 5
th home run of the season and Strong drew a second walk and scored on an error by the second basemen stretching the lead to four. McMullin gave up his first hit in the fourth with one out. Another single followed by a walk loaded the bases. A single scored the Red Lions first run. McMullin struggled briefly with command walking and hitting the next two batters before inducing a ground ball double play to get out of the jam. Lincoln Christian tallied three runs that inning. The Panthers responded with a big inning of their own. McMullin singled and Stamos walked.

Blake Lesky singled in a run and stole second which allowed
Will Adler to score making the lead 8-3. Lincoln Christian scored an unearned run in the 5
th and again in the 6
th when Rawlinson homered for the first time this season. With the score 8-5,
Sean Hannan replaced McMullin on the mound and made quick work of the three batters he faced, striking out two and getting the other to ground out to him to pick up his second save of the season.
Game two was a different story for the Panthers. They tallied 10 hits but were unable to pick up the key hit during the game to score any runs. The Lincoln Christian starter went into the 7th and threw extremely well keeping the Panthers guessing. Stephen Strong threw for the Panthers and gave up one run in the first. Lincoln Christian stretched the lead to three in the bottom of the second and tacked on another in the 4th. The Panthers threatened in the top of the seventh scoring two runs and having first and second with two outs but ended the game with a strikeout looking.
