Elsah, ILL. -- The Principia Panthers took on the Lewis and Clark Trailblazers tonight. The team played the Trailblazers in a preseason scrimmage earlier in the season and came away with a 3-0 win, but that was not the case today. The Panthers struggled to find their rhythm and fell to the Trailblazers 1-3.
A Look at the Match:
The Panthers looked and played flat tonight. They kept trying to get their motor going, but they couldn't put the ball to the ground and ended the evening with a lackluster .055 hitting percentage. Both teams did a pretty good job of making the defense scramble, but Lewis & Clark capitalized on opportunities to end the rally a lot better than Principia tonight.
Good to Know:
-
Amanda Roberts served 100% with six aces.
-It was the team's best blocking outing, posting 7 blocks against LCCC.
-Both teams picked up a lot of digs, with all back row Panthers digging in double digits.
She Said It:
"The team was not happy with this outing, and we have another opportunity at home on Thursday. This is a great opportunity to look the tiger in the eye and move on boldly", says Coach Sprague.
Next Up:
The Panthers will play at home again this Thursday against St. Louis Pharmacy at 7:00 pm- see you there!
