St. Louis, MO. - Principia volleyball traveled to Webster University Thursday night to continue their progress as the season heads into its final week.
The Panthers had several strong rallies with the talented Gorlock team showing their improving defense and demonstrating a greater understanding of how their system should work. Webster, a perennial contender for the conference title, attacked Prin in many different ways and ultimately won in straight sets. The Panthers were led as usual by the improving play of freshmen Paige Fowler and Neha Bandrapalli. Freshman Brianna Shipley also chipped in with her best effort of the season. Juniors Madi Leslie and Lindsey Huffman played solid roles as well.
Rich Eisenauer said, "Webster played very well against us tonight. We earned the points that we got. They are big, fast and skilled and didn't make any mistakes. As always, these matches give us a sense of how far we have come this season and how far we still have to go. We'll keep working."
Next up: The volleyball team will travel to Carlinville, IL., on Saturday, October 9th, to play a tri-match with Blackburn College and Spaulding University.
