Elsah IL. - Principia Men's Soccer faced Eureka College for their 2nd conference game of the season. After suffering an overtime loss to Fontbonne, Principia bounced back in commanding fashion.
To begin scoring, Liam Peschke finished a through pass from Patrick Sherman, which would make for Peschke's first career goal. Twenty minutes later, Junior Baraza found the back of the net, assisted by Walter Lazo. Lazo went on to help on two corner kicks as well, with captain EG Pierce scoring the first header and Patrick Sherman finishing the other. Lastly, Seth Arens slipped Walter Lazo through for the easy finish to cap off the 5-0 win.
Another great highlight was that every player on the roster had game minutes, and we saw the debut of Freshmen Noah Buitron and Dennis Magige.
Good to know:Â Principia played a clean game, having only eight fouls as opposed to Eureka's 11. This was Principia's first game not receiving a yellow card.
They said it:
"It was good to get our first win of the season today and have it be a shut out as well. The boys worked hard and scored some well-crafted goals. I'm looking forward to building off of this momentum going into our next game vs. Blackburn." - EG Pierce
