BLOOMINGTON, IL – The Principia College Men's and Women's Swim teams traveled to Bloomington, IL to take on the host Illinois Wesleyan and nationally-ranked Washington University in a short invitational format. Swimming against some top-notch talent was going to be a challenge and the team faced some additional challenges as well but they also showed continue progress and came home with a 3
rd place showing for each team earned on 11 "best" swims.
The women's 200 Medley relay opened the meet and, due to an illness, there was a last minute shuffle of the relay line up. Junior
Kannon Gill stepped in to anchor the relay and she took advantage of the opportunity to swim a 31.90 50 Free relay split – a new in-season lifetime best time – to bring the relay home in 2:13.42.
Next up in the 200 Free, freshman Lucas Savoye swam a season best 2:19.03 to add another best swim. The next 'bests' came in the 50 Free where Gill, L Savoye and sophomore
James Ives all swam bests. Gill went a 32.09 for another in-season lifetime best time. L Savoye went a 27.67 for a season best and Ives went a 35.19 for another season best. The 100 Free saw a couple of in-season lifetime best times: once again Gill with a 1:12.44 and senior
Heather Savoye with a 1:04.65. Ives and L Savoye added 2 more season bests in the 100 Free with their 1:23.19 and 1:01.12 respectively.

Camille Abadie got her "best" of the meet with a season best in the 500, despite some counting challenges, with a 6:13.23. H Savoye swam to the final 'best' of the meet with a new lifetime best time of 1:27.49 100 Breast time.
The teams faced some tough challenges at the meet but still demonstrated continue progress as they head into the final meet of their fall season.
Up Next: The teams will wrap up the fall portion of their season by hosting the Paul Clifford Classic starting on Thursday, December 1 at 6:30 pm, followed by two days of prelims/finals swimming on Friday and Saturday, December 2-3 at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm each day.
