ELSAH, IL – The Principia Volleyball team played host to SLIAC rival Spalding University from Kentucky on Friday to a packed house of fans and supporters.
The match was never very close as Spalding is one of the top teams in the conference while Principia is still searching for their first set win. Despite it being a lopsided affair in favor of the Golden Eagles, the Panthers showed growth and stamina in defeat. Early rallies showed the Panthers' athleticism and ability to keep pace with teams that on paper are more athletic at this point in the team's development.
"I was excited to see the support offered to these young players", said Coach Davis. "I am so proud of how our athletes stayed positive and supportive throughout the entire match. We have a lot to be thankful for including our desire to get better daily. I am confident that will happen as we move forward into the midpoint of our season."
Up Next: Principia will host Blackburn College on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
