ELSAH, IL – Congratulations to freshman
Ernesto Botero on being named UMAC South Division Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of February 20-26!
Principia Men's Tennis has now won the Player of the Week three of the first four weeks of the season. Botero follows recent wins by his teammates,
Juan Segovia and
Jesús Soto Bossa.
Ernesto went 4-2 on the week against the University of the Ozarks, Wabash College, and Earlham College as he helped the Panthers to a 2-1 record in the three matches. In his two singles wins at #3 vs Earlham and #4 vs Ozarks, he only dropped two games total. He also won doubles matches with two different partners, playing with both Segovia at #1 and Bossa at #2. Even though Principia did not beat any Wabash players, Botero came the closest of any Panther to winning as he fell 10-6 in the third set tiebreaker.
The Men's Tennis team is off for a couple weeks as they prepare for their spring break matches in California.
