ELSAH, IL – The Principia women's basketball team welcomed local NAIA school, Harris-Stowe State University to campus on Tuesday for the Panthers' only non-conference home game of the season. After a close first half, Principia ran away with the second half to defeat the Hornets 56-40 and improve to 6-2 on the season.
After building a nine point lead early in the second quarter, Principia allowed Harris-Stowe to go on a quick seven point run to back in the game. By the end of the first half, the Panthers led by just five and looked to step up their play after the halftime break. They did just that as they outscored the Hornets by 11 in the second half for a comfortable victory.

Hannah Myers had her highest scoring game as a Panther as she hit four big three-pointers to finish with 12 points along with 8 rebounds. The Panthers' leading scorer in the game was
Trinniti Matthews who scored 15 points and grabbed 6 boards.
Taylor Brown also had another strong game as she stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
The Panthers will be off for Christmas break before returning for a two-game tournament at Ohio Wesleyan on December 29-30.
