Four Panthers compete in men's ITA regional tournament

Box Score ST. LOUIS, MO – The Principia College men's tennis team had four players qualify to play in the 2024 ITA fall regional tournament hosted by WashU this weekend in Forest Park. The singles and doubles draws were made up of all the best Division III players in the central region, which includes some of the best teams in the country: Denison, Case Western, WashU, and the defending national champions, UChicago.

Jesús Soto BossaErnesto Botero, Ignacio Zamora, and Álvaro Martín Moliz competed in doubles, while Bossa, Botero, and Zamora all competed in singles. The Panthers played some stiff competition in their matches, but Bossa and Botero each earned a hard-fought singles win before coming up against very strong opponents in their second matches. Since Bossa was awarded a bye in the first round of singles, he was able to advance to the round of 32.

The Panthers will play one team exhibition match at William Woods University in Fulton, MO next Saturday at 1:00 pm to finish out their fall season.
