ELSAH, IL – The Principia women's soccer team earned their second consecutive 1-0 conference victory on Saturday when they hosted Eureka College for their first SLIAC home game.
This game turned out to be a defensive battle as neither team was able to score for the first 87 minutes. Then, just like she did late in the Panthers first conference game, junior
Dachelle Carter came up clutch with the game-winning goal. A perfect corner kick by fellow junior
Zoe Houseman found Carter in the middle of the box as she headed it home past the keeper to give Principia their third straight win.
Panther goalie
Christin Walls got her third clean sheet of the season to continue her strong senior campaign. Center backs
Zayana Brown and
Makayla Kurtz also played great games keeping Eureka off the scoreboard.
Principia will look to keep it rolling when they head to World Wide Technology Soccer Park in St. Louis next Saturday for a match against Webster University at 1:00 PM.
