Genesis Santiago, who was named SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 3-9!
Santiago opened the season on fire this past weekend at the Laura Williams Memorial Classic with the best two-game stretch of her collegiate career. She led the team in scoring in both games despite coming off the bench, helping the Panthers begin the year 2-0. After scoring 21 points with 4 rebounds and 3 assists against Illinois College on Friday, she outdid herself with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 steals against Illinois Tech on Saturday. Even though the Panthers have had a lot of team success the last few seasons, this is surprisingly the program's first conference player of the week in almost three years.
Next up, the Panthers will travel to Earlham College in Indiana for another two-game Classic on November 21-22.
