OTTAWA, CANADA – Former Principia head softball coach Ken Leavoy (C'75) was recently elected to the Softball Canada Hall of Fame! He will officially be inducted in November as a member of the 2015 Canadian National Softball Team's coaching staff.
Leavoy served as head softball coach at both Principia College and the Principia Upper School during multiple stints. He helped bring back the College program in 2010, and was named the SLIAC Coach of the Year in 2011. He continued to lead the Panther program as well as serve as the College's associate athletic director until his retirement in 2021.
As an assistant coach with the Canadian National Team, Leavoy was a talent scout in the US and an advance scout of future opponents. While with the national team, Leavoy helped guide the program to a gold medal in the 2015 Pan Am Games. After their win, the team moved up to #3 in the world softball rankings, and they followed up their gold medal with a third place finish in 2016. Leavoy served in that role with the national team for six years.
