Fall 2012 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
Senior Year (2012)
Kristen Crandall is a warrior out on the field. She always finds a way to be at the end of every cross, she will run through any ball, and nothing keeps her down for long. She is resilient and inspiring. Her speed is also another of her strengths. Meaning, no matter how far she just ran to get a toe on the end of a cross, she is sprinting back to put backside pressure on defense. Her commitment to excellence on the field does not go without recognition and this season we know she will have a huge impact on Principia Women’s Soccer.
Junior Year (2011)
It was difficult to hear before the start of our season last year that Kristen was not going to be playing soccer. However, her love for the game and her teammates called her back and we were very fortunate. Having Played outside winger and forward, her speed and quickness made her dangerous in the attack. Kristen is an extremely hard worker who pushed herself and her teammates to be better which helped in our success this past year. Now that she is an upperclassman, we are excited to see her take on a more leadership role and help take ownership of this next season.
Sophomore Year (2010)
As a freshman, Kristen brought a great level of courage and tenacity to the team. She played nearly half the season in a new position as the Panthers goalie where she sacrificed not only her playing time on the field but her body as well to keep the ball out of the back of their net. In the second half of the season, she stepped on the opposite side of the field as an attacker where she put in 5 goals and 6 assists. This season, she’ll be counted on as a field player to bring her aggression back up into the attack.
Freshman Year (2009)
Before moving to St. Louis and attending The Principia School, Kristen played soccer in Texas for two years and played club soccer for the Texas Rush Soccer Club since she was 10. When she finally arrived at The Principia School for her junior and senior year, Kristen played forward on the Varsity team and was captain her senior year. Kristen received the Scholar Athlete Award in her junior year. She was 2nd Team All-Conference as a junior and First Team All-State as a senior.
Despite the fact that she has spent her soccer career as a field player, Kristen has unselfishly stepped in goal in order to fill the team’s need for a backup keeper. We are excited to watch her become a versatile player on the field and in the goal.
Prep/ Personal
Off the field, Kristen loves spending time with friends and family. However, don’t expect to see her doing homework around 8 o'clock Thursday nights because most likely she will be watching the hit T.V. show, The Office. When it comes to new experiences and new places, she brings a camera so that everything will be photo documented. As a member of the soccer team, Kristen is looking forward to being part of a tight-knit group.
