Senior Year (2010)
Mel enters her final season on the women’s soccer team, this time as their captain. Last year, she played an instrumental role in the team’s success, playing in 11 of their games. Coming off an injury at the beginning of the season, Mel stepped right back to her role halfway through the season as though she had been playing all along. She racked up 20 saves in the second half of the season and three shutouts. Coming back healthier and stronger than ever, this should prove to be an exciting season for the veteran keeper. 

Junior Year (2009)
As a sophomore, Mel certainly had a large impact, playing in 20 of the 21 games and starting in 19 of them. She has the perfect tough mentality for the keeper position and an incredible shot blocking ability which resulted in 48 saves her sophomore year. Last year, the panthers recorded 17 wins with her as their keeper, 12 of which were shutouts. This year, she will be counted on to do much of the same, on top of working and training the new keepers.

Sophomore Year (2008)
With only a year under her belt, Mel is expected to fill in a rather large hole in the women’s team as the goal keeper. She proved to be incredibly courageous and daring her freshman year, and worked diligently off the game field to hone her skills. Last year, she played in four games, adding two more shutouts to the panther record. This season we hope to see more of those from her as she steps on the field as the starting keeper.

Freshman Year (2007)
Mel is relatively new to soccer, but is very excited to train as a goalkeeper for the team. She has great athleticism, and we love witnessing her enthusiasm as she leaps with wild abandon onto every loose ball beyond arm's length. She will definitely prove to be a great asset in the back this season, and in seasons coming.

Prep / Personal
Mel might be one of the most unique people you will ever meet. Starting college at the age of 14, Mel graduated high school with an AA degree and entered Principia as a freshman before reaching her 18th birthday.
