Biography
Junior Year (2013)
Batista continues to be a force of stability amongst the Panther returners. THis junior captain continues to get the job done and has led by example. As as midfielder he does the dirty work, grinding it out while keeping his teammates motivated. He needs to rediscover his scoring touch as it eluded him last season but he seems to be ready to lead from the front. His durability allowed him to feature in all 20 mathes last year while starting in all but two games.
Sophomore Year (2012)
Following a strong season in which Gustavo emerged as a strong leader within the group, plenty more is expected from the second year midfielder. His command of the midfield and ability to control the tempo of the team will be crucial to our success. The sophmore featured in 12 of the 15 games scoring 3 goals. We will look for him to focus on setting up goal scoring situations for his speedy front line.
Freshman Year (2011)
Gustavo comes to us from Brazil via Boston area where he played highschool ball. Following a three year hiatus from the game on a competitive level. He is now getting back in the game and hoping to awaken his natural talents this upcoming season. He is a self proffessed midfield maestro and will hopefully have a role in the operation of playing in the middle of the park. Wonderful things are expected from this Samba specialist.
