Freshman Year 2013-2014
Spencer joins us this season after transferring from Culver-Stockton. At the Upper School, Spencer was a point guard for some very successful teams. She brings great leadership and work ethic to this year's team, as she will start at the point guard position. Look for Spencer to continually improve as both a player and leader throughout the season.

When did you start playing this sport and why?
I started straight out the womb….jk I started when I was around 5. I played for the YMCA and really didn’t even know what was going on. I really started to care about it when I was in 2^nd grade. I loved basketball because it helped me establish self-confidence. There was/is always something I could get better at but I always felt great when I mastered an aspect of the game that had been challenging for me. Also, my dad was a huge influence. His initial passion for the sport got me going and keeps me in tune with the real motives behind playing.

What do you love most about playing this sport?
I love feeling like a leader. I love being able to work for something bigger than myself. Basketball, being a team sport is so contingent on the effort of each player. I just love working hard and seeing it pay off in games. In addition to this, I love to give. I love making my teammates laugh or just supporting people in their own growth as I am constantly feeling the support around me. Basketball is my best teammate, coach, and competition. It is something I always love to do, something that pushes me to be better in my entire life (not just in basketball), and something I am always striving to perfect.

What's your favorite...
Food? Hmmm….tough one…food is sort of like just all around my favorite but if I have to choose….were gonna go with a mix of Mac n Cheese and Mexican….MUY BUENO!
Restaurant? Red Robin aka the Dirty Bird..work there, eat there, its da bomb.
Hobbies? I’ve got a passion for hair! I love doing hair and have since I was little. I also love to do improv slash I’m a part time karaoke champ.
Pro Athlete? Steve Nash. He’s a dime disher.
Movie? Mix up between Remember the Titans and Bridesmaids slash Shaw Shank Redemption
TV Show? Restaurant Impossible
Dream Job? To own my own salon called “Story of Your Life Hair Salon” (that’s trademarked and cannot be used by anyone else…)
