Junior (2016)
Co-captain Emma had a good Beach season to finish up her sophomore year, and after a summer of training she will be ready to serve the team in any way the coaches need. Emma is a savvy player, and her serve and hitting shows it. Emma spent considerable time on the court as a DS last year, but is always ready to help out offensively as well.

Sophomore (2015)
Emma saw the most playing time out of all the freshmen last year, racking up 141 digs for the season and 4 aces.  Emma played softball in the spring, but made it a priority to show us she was “in” by putting in lots of work in the off season.  She made huge strides in skill development, putting 110% effort into each practice that she was able to attend.  We look forward to seeing Emma back in action this year!

Freshman (2014)
Emma is from Walnut Creek, California where she played volleyball for her high school, Northgate HS.   Emma played as an outside hitter for both her high school team and her club team, the Bay Area Blast Volleyball Club.  This past season, Emma’s high school team was undefeated in league play and went to the North Coast Sectionals.  Emma’s impressive extra-curricular activities show that she is a natural leader and very involved in her community.  

Emma also excelled in the classroom, graduating Magna Cum Lade – with a total GPA of 4.00.  In her free time, Emma loves to volunteer, paint and work on fun craft projects!  Emma will be a wonderful addition to the Principia College volleyball team!  

Fun Facts

1.)  When did you start playing volleyball and why?
I started playing volleyball in 6th grade because, well, I’m from California and pretty much every girl tried out when they got to middle school. It was certainly the thing to do. Needless to say, I fell in love with it right away.

2.)  What do you love most about playing volleyball?
My answer to this questions probably changes every day. Today, I most love the opportunity it gives me to overcome limitations and express accuracy, unity, and power.
