Senior Year (2017)
For the past three seasons, Vanessa, has given this team her everything and because of that she was voted captain by her coaching staff. Her selfless play and go-getter attitude makes Vanessa a great teammate and player to coach. She is always there to support her teammates and does everything to the best of her ability on and off the field. Her speedy and finesse play makes her a great outside back, and we can’t wait to see her progression for her final season.

Junior Year (2016)
Last year, Vanessa returned from summer prepared for the season and turned herself into a starting outside midfielder.  She did a great job keeping possession of the ball and her speed was helpful in recovering the ball on defense.  A more creative and slippery player, she used her moves to get out of trouble and to beat opponents.  As she continues to gain confidence, we expect her to be a huge threat on the wing this year.     

Sophomore Year (2015)
As a freshman last year, Vanessa found playing time as an outside midfielder or forward.  She has great footwork and can be tricky with the ball.  She is not afraid to pull a move on the dribble or make a creative or unexpected pass to throw off the opponent.          

Freshman Year (2014)
Coming to us from California/Mexico, we are grateful to have Vanessa join our squad. With a background in competitive speed skating, Vanessa knows what dedication is and how to work successfully in a competitive arena. As a soccer player, we love her ability to feint one way then quickly go another, helping her get out of tight spaces. We are so grateful to have her eagerness to learn on our team and are excited to see how she contributes to our success this season

1.)  When did you start playing soccer and why?
I started playing soccer my freshman year of high school when I couldn’t continue practicing inline speed skating. I had just moved to California from Mexico and my brother suggested I play for the High School JV team. When the season started, I really enjoyed playing with a team and learning how to work together.

2.)  What do you love most about playing soccer?
 I love the quickness of the game that requires quick thinking and adjusting to all sorts of unexpected changes.
