Senior (2019)
Makena returns to the court after several study Abroad experiences. Beach is the love of her life, so we are excited for the reuniting of the sand and Makena. Mak brings a nice energy to the court and a solid IQ of the game, and she is definitely  willing to go hard and compete until the ball is down.

Junior (2018)
Makena had a good indoor season and we look forward to seeing her progress on the beach based on all of her court time indoors. Mak brings a great energy to the court, and loves to problem solve with her partner in the sand. Her ball control has improved and she is dedicated to growing her offense every day. I am confident we will see a lot from Mak this season.

Sophomore (2017)
Makena loves the beach game, and it shows every day in the sand. Mak’s game is progressing after gaining skill and confidence in her ball control this indoor season. Makena is a great partner, making the game fun and also holding high expectations. We can’t wait to watch her game grow.

Freshman (2016)
Makena is a fun player to watch in a doubles situation.  She hasn’t had much experience as a beach volleyball player, but she is ready for the challenge and seems to really like the flow of the game.  She has already mastered the “pokey” and has integrated that skill into her play really nicely.  It will be fun to see her grow in the sport as she gains more experience!

1.) When did you start playing beach volleyball and why?
This season. I started playing because I love the beach and I love volleyball, so why not play!
 
2.) What do you love most about playing beach volleyball?
Diving for a ball without getting hurt and getting the perfect pokey.
