Biography
Senior (2012)
Kiersten has become a true leader for the team. Last year, she earned SLIAC recognition as SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for September 6-11 and October 3-9 and won Second Team All Conference. She has brought soul to our defense and wisdom to our offense. Kiersten will be a solid outside hitter and back-row passer this season with her knowledge and love of the game. Kiersten enters her senior season having shown a 100% commitment to developing her strength, quickness, and volleyball skills. We can’t wait for her to steer the season!
Junior (2011)
After working on a more technical and consistent swing during spring season, Kiersten will be an unstoppable offensive player. Last year, she developed a greater knowledge and love of picking apart opposing teams defenses, earning SLIAC offensive player of the week and second team all conference. This year she is sure to be an even bigger threat to opponents, especially with her steady defense and constant competitive fire.
Sophmore (2010)
Kiersten will be our number one go-to hitter this season. Last year as a freshman, Kiersten got put in the line of fire early as a hitter. At the end of 2009, her stats showed that she placed fourth in kills on the team with three seniors ahead of her. This year we are looking for her to terminate the ball. She will also be a significant back-row player as a primary passer and middle-middle. Coach Sprague is very impressed with her competitive maturity and looks forward to the presence she will bring to the court.
Freshman (2009)
Kiersten found volleyball as a 9th grader at Principia Upper School, and then moved home to Michigan to play for Uttica Stevenson High School for the past three years, and became addicted to the sport. She played Club ball each year as well. Kiersten has an energy that lights up the court, and her coach describes her as an incredible teammate. We will train Kiersten as a versatile hitter as she moves into the collegiate game.

When did you start playing this sport and why?
I started playing volleyball in 9th grade when I went to the Principia Upper School. I wanted to play volleyball because I wanted to try something new.

What do love the most about playing this sport?
I love the team aspect of volleyball. When a team comes together and has inte1nse competition is great. I also love when the team works hard during a rally and we get the point!
