Chris Marston

Chris Marston is in his sixth year as head coach at Principia College and his ninth with the program. Under his guidance, the Panthers set a new season win record with 22 wins in 2018. In addition, he has had seven players earn SLIAC all-conference recognition and 27 earn SLIAC all-academic recognition. Marston is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), where his teams have received Academic recognition over the last four years, posting team GPAs over 3.3.

Marston, while working as a Graduate Assistant, earned his Master's in Sport Psychology. A pitcher in college, he spent his first season as the pitching coach for the Panthers. He helped guide them to the previous record-setting season earning 20 wins. In addition, under the guidance of Marston, the pitching staff lowered their ERA by over one run, reduced the opponent's average by forty points, knocked off 50 earned runs, and increased their strikeout/walk ratio to around 1.5.

Marston spent two years at Principia High School as a co-head coach with his father, Bill Marston. During his time there, he had the opportunity to manage the school's first perfect game, thrown during the 2015 District tournament.

Marston played his collegiate career at Drury University, helping the team earn conference appearances in 2007 and 2010, a conference championship, and a regional appearance in 2007. In addition, he made the team's Cy Young award in 2008 and 2010. He pitched for the Danville Dans in 2008 in the Central Illinois Collegiate League (now the Prospect League). Marston set the record for most strikeouts in a single game (10) and hurled the first no-hitter in Drury's history against UMSL (University of Missouri Saint Louis).

In the summer of 2017, Marston served as the pitching coach of the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League. He worked under the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer, Chris Sabo. The Northwoods is one of the premier summer leagues for college players looking to play professional baseball. The Northwoods play a 70 game season over 72 days to give players the minor league experience.

Marston resides in Saint Peters, MO, with his wife, Kiersten, an elementary teacher at the Principia School, and his two sons Caden (4) and Landon (2).
