Spring 2017 Baseball Roster
Biography
Junior Year (2016)
John enters his junior year and his second year with the team as one of the best leaders on the team. He is the exemplification of a model teammate. He works hard, expresses humility, and is always encouraging his teammates. He has improved vastly since last season and lit it up in Fall Ball and the Alumni Game, where he recorded his first base knock in a Panther uniform. We are grateful to have him be a part of the team again this year and expect him to continue to make much progress this season.
Sophomore Year (2015)
John “JC” Challenger is one of the most dedicated, intelligent, and loving guys you could ask for on any team. He always brings a great attitude to the field and is a one of a kind leader. John lit up the pitching in the fall and made incredible improvements throughout the fall season. We are tremendously grateful to have John as part of the team this year and he is going to make the season so much more fun for everyone because of his passion and devotion to the game and to our team.

Fun Fact: I sat near Alex Trebek, host of Jeopardy game show, in an airport.
Nicknames: Big John, Big J, The Man, & The Toaster are the main ones
When did you start playing baseball and why?
My mom encouraged me to be active when I was young and let me choose what I wanted to do. I have an uncle who occasionally participates on fantasy leagues, so I chose baseball.
What do you love most about playing baseball?
I love spending each day at practices, games, and around campus with a group of guys that push me to be my very best. I also enjoy bouncing ideas, or concepts to them about baseball or life.

Hobbies: Reading all sorts of stuff, making new discoveries, listening to music, and watching documentaries
