5th year Senior (2019)
Sophia is a 5th year senior, having one year of eligibility remaining. She is a constant scoring threat from inside the lane, as well as the free throw line. Sophia sees the court very well and her teammates rely on her leadership both on and off the court. Once again, Sophia was recognized this past year for her academic excellence as a member of the 4.0 Club. Sophia is a leader on campus, serving as Student Body President.  She received recognition for her leadership as recipient of the Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Award, for her excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities. In her 5^th year, she has played on the Principia Soccer Team and will play beach volleyball in the spring.


Senior (2018)
Sophia was a leader on the basketball team this past year as a top scorer and rebounder.  She plays post, where she is dominant both offensively and defensively and will be a captain for the Panthers this year.  She also plays indoor and beach volleyball for Principia. Sophia missed some of the season last year, while she was on the Principia Abroad Program to New Zealand, but contributed when she played in November and December.  She was a member of the 4.0 club, excelling in the classroom and on the basketball court.  Sophia is majoring in Environmental and Global Studies, with a minor in Sustainability.  Sophia participates in Discovery Bound’s National Leadership Council.  Her favorite quote is, "God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis."

Junior (2017)
Sophia Hathaway is a junior from South Pasadena, California, and was a leader on the basketball team her freshman year.  She plays post, where she is dominant both offensively and defensively.  She also plays volleyball for Principia. Sophia will miss some of the season, while she is on the Principia Abroad Program to New Zealand, but is excited to have basketball back at Principia for her junior and senior years. She is looking forward to playing with her younger sister, Hannah, a sophomore on the team. Sophia is majoring in Environmental and Global Studies, with a minor in Sustainability.  Sophia participates in DiscoveryBound’s National Leadership Council.  Her favorite quote is, "God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis."
