Senior (2017-18)
Tanya Marquardt is a senior from St. Louis, where she attended the Principia School.  She has played basketball, soccer and softball at Principia School and Principia College.  She began playing basketball at the age of seven and enjoyed playing with her twin sister. Tanya plays point guard and shooting guard and brings a high intensity to her defense. She loves helping out wherever needed and could be seen this fall working at the scoring table for Principia soccer.  She is majoring in Education and hopes to one day be a basketball coach.

1.)  When did you start playing basketball and why?
I started playing basketball when I was about 7 years old. The reason why I play it is because I wanted to play with my sister and playing with her was so much fun. Her and I were unstoppable and we always knew where each other were on the court and worked really well together.

2.)  What do you love most about playing basketball?
What I love most about basketball is getting on the ground for balls and getting up high for rebounds. I also love the chemistry on the court with my teammates and how well we can connect.
