Fall 2013 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
Senior Year (2013)
Carlie enters her final season and will be joining HMac in leading the team as captain. As one of our consistent and solid defenders last year, we could easily rely on her to play outside or center back. Her sound touch makes receiving any type of ball look easy and her ability to cross the ball from the right side of the field to the left is especially dangerous for opposing teams. She has a hard-fighting attitude in which she leaves her heart out on the field every game; she is very inspiring to watch. Due to her versatility, we will be playing her in different areas on the field this year.
Junior Year (2012)
Carlie is one of our most consistent and aggressive players. For the past two years Carlie played as an outside left defender, but for this 2012 season will be a center back. She is strong in the air, her decision making on the ball is excellent, knowing when to find feet and when to clear, and Carlie has a relentless drive to win the ball. She is AWESOME!
Sophomore Year (2011)
We are very grateful to have a player like Carlie. Upon first meeting her at sports camp last year she was a little reserved. However, when she stepped onto the field she meant business. A few days into camp she proved she belonged on the field and was therefore, one of our many starting freshman who made a tremendous impact. Although originally a center midfield player, we were able to place her anywhere on the field because of her strong soccer background. We put her in the backline as one of our solid defenders. She made it difficult for opponents to come down the right sideline and her long crosses into the attack created opportunities on offense. As a result, she was awarded SLIAC Second Team All-Conference. We are not exactly sure what position she will be playing this year but we do know wherever she goes she will bless the team.
Freshman Year (2010)
Having played for three different competitive club teams in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Carlie joins the squad with a strong soccer background. As a freshman, she made the Ridgefield High School varsity soccer team where she earned All-Conference three years in a row. As a captain, her senior year, she helped lead the team to become Conference Champions. Her success as a captain, on her high school team, was probably a result of her experience as captain on her club soccer team, CFC Arsenal. It is not easy being a student athlete and Carlie received the Ridgefield High School Scholar Athlete award along with receiving the Soccer Club of Ridgefield Scholarship. Carlie’s hard work ethic, sound soccer skills and natural leading abilities will make her a force to be reckoned with in the midfield. We are excited to have her and know she will do great things.
Prep/Personal
Carlie is not just a one sport athlete. She is also a talented tennis player as well. When she is not participating in athletics you might find her on the slopes during the winter skiing down the powdery mountains. Also, if there is ever a Kodak moment and you forgot your camera, never fear because Carlie’s got you covered. With her interest in photography she will be sure to be the one to take the picture.
