Senior Year (2012)
Julianna Mangelsdorf: For the past three years Jules has been one of the most tenacious players on the field, winning tackles and blocking shots. Now as a senior and our returning center back, she will be the anchor to our defense. Jules reads the game very well and positions herself to win almost every ball that comes over the top. We expect her to be a commanding voice and strong presence in the back. 

Junior Year (2011)
This past year, Jules was crucial to our defensive line. Upon graduating three out of our four defenders, she filled a greatly needed position as one of our center defenders. She definitely showed us she was capable in that spot and that she belonged on the field. We began calling her the wall because if a player came near her with the ball they were not going to get very far. She was fearless and never shied away from a hit. We are very excited to watch her grow as a player even more this year and see her play more of a leadership role in the backline.

Sophomore Year (2010)
Julianna filled a number of crucial roles for the Panthers last season and saw a substantial amount of playing time. She played in 16 games, starting in 11 of them, and was awarded in the beginning of the season the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. “Jules” as she is now known on the soccer field, was a key contributor to the defense with her ferocity and unique, but effective tackling technique. With three of the four backs graduating, Jules’ defensive skills will become an even more important asset to the team. 

Freshman Year (2009) 
For four years, Julianna played on the Varsity team at Palmer High School in Alaska. She received Second Team All Conference her junior and senior year. With a background in basketball, she is fearless in using her body to block shots and run through the ball. Her aggressive defense and strong tackles will make her a dependable holding midfielder.
