#1 - When did you start playing volleyball and what level (Club, Y, middle school)
I played club and school volleyball from 7th grade-freshman year of college and am grateful to be returning after a year off.

#2 - What positions have you played and which one is your preference
MB/RH - I like middle blocker best; it is the most exhausting and most rewarding for me.

#3 - Have you been captain - when and how long?
I may have been co-captain in 10th grade. That rings a very tiny bell somewhere far away in my memory.

#4 - vb awards and honors (all-league, mvp)
I have most likely won lots of awards that I have forgotten about. Did we have one for "Most Likely to Burst into Tears" two years ago?

#5 - Favorite kind of music?
Pop, alternative, country, oldies, rock, a little blues. Lifehouse = favorite band.

#6 – Favorite Food?
Turkey sandwiches, Pop tarts, bagels, and many desserts.

#7 – Favorite Movie?
The Holiday and Beauty and the Beast.

#8 - If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
I would be a squirrel on the Prin College campus and throw nuts at students.

#9 - What is your favorite quote?

#10 - What do you think you will be doing and where in 10 years?
I will hopefully be married and teaching high school English or math, unless my 2-3 adorable children are still young. I'd like to live in the suburbs somewhere in the Northern USA. I would also consider editing for the CS Sentinel or working at Principia.

#11 - Nickname and reason?
Hilmo. It became a volleyball and a camp way to shorten my name. I also answer to H, Heel, Atch, H-ie, and other odd names derived from the letter H.

#12 - what do you love best about the best sport in the world - VOLLEYBALL?
I chose volleyball for the indoors and air conditioning, but I stayed for the spandex.
Really, I love the intensity. You cannot think of a single thing except what is going on in the moment on either side of the net. No point is over until the whistle has been blown. And once the next point has started, the previous points are left behind.
I came back to PC volleyball because I cannot find such quality teammates or spiritual growth anywhere else!
