Senior (2011)
Tara has become a true court leader for the Principia College Volleyball team. Her skill and intensity as a setter have been very important for the team the past three years, and she is always ready to adapt to the needs of the hitters and coaches. Last year Tara earned SLIAC recognition as a Defensive Player of the Week, Offensive Player of the Week, and First Team All-Conference. Tara has a quick step, strong serve, and big block, which makes her even more perfect as our starting setter this year.
Junior (2010)
Tara will run the offense again this season as our setter. Spring season allowed Tara to gel with a new group of hitters. She has also been developing her own game to improve her defense and her ability to score on her serve. Tara is a valuable setter who can also put up a potent block and bring intensity to the game.
Sophomore (2009)
Tara earned substantial playing time her freshman year, effectively competing in just about every position for us. Tara will move into the starting setter position this year, and she is more than ready to deliver the ball to a very veteran group of hitters. We look forward to Tara’s killer serve causing problems for our opponents, and to put her strong blocking skills to use.
Freshman (2008)
Tara is unrecognizable as a freshman on this team. Stepping into the second setter spot, she will be training with Rachael to prepare her for the quick transition as primary setter next year. Her mature work ethic and competitive endurance are admirable when competing against our starters in practice. She has an incredible skill set and after one year of getting her feet wet at the college level, she'll be ready to run the panther offense and become a vital part of the core six.
Prep/Personal
#1 - When did you start playing volleyball and what level (Club, Y, middle school)
I started playing when I was 10 years old. My dad was my coach and my sister was on my team.
#2 - what positions have you played and which one is your preference
I have always played the best position, setter.
#3 - have you been captain - when and how long?
I was captain on my club team for 3 years and my high school Varsity and JV for 2 years.
#4 - vb awards and honors (all-league, mvp)
I won MVP on my JV team and most offensive on my Varsity team
#6 - Favorite kind of music?
My all time favorite kinds of music are country and rap, although my favorite song “I don’t want to miss a thing” isn’t from one of those genres.
#7 – Favorite Food?
My favorite food is garlic bread yum-yum!
#8 – Favorite Movie?
My favorite movie would have to be “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”
#9 - If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
I would want to be a dog so I can still be in my family and still be just as loved as I am now!
#10 - What is your favorite quote?

#11 - What do you think you will be doing and where in 10 years?
I will be 29, so hopefully I will be happily married for 4 years and have my own event planning business with my sister that is super successful. I would also hope to be pregnant with my first child!
#12 - Nickname and reason?
T or Tear-Bear, my dad came up with both of those because he calls my little sister Hanny-cup.
#13 - what do you love best about the best sport in the world - VOLLEYBALL?
I love the team aspect, the support system, the amazing relationships, having knowledgeable and loving coaches and being able to stay physically fit.
