Eureka Trounces Principia 93-67

(Eureka, IL) January 23, 2010 - The Eureka Red Devil Men's basketball got off to a fast start against Principia on nearly 70% shooting in the first half handing Prin a 93-67 loss.  Eureka is now 6-2 in SLIAC play while Prin drops to 2-6.

The Panthers. who lead the league in 3 pt shooting only hit 21% from beyond the arc in the first half.  Prin found themselves in a deep hole going into the half time locker room looking at a 48-25 score.  In the second half Prin started to come alive as Sam Douglas hit all six of his 3-pointers but Eureka kept pace with its own hot shooting.  

Eureka finished the game shooting almost 65% from the field.  Eureka starts the two top scorers in the conferences and they lived up to their season stats.  Michael Zasada scored 22 points on 9-10 shooting and Kameron Bell added 20.

Prin was lead by Douglas' 20 points.  Todd Zimmerman added 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Stanley Beal finished the game with 11 points.
