(January 19, 2010) Elsah, IL - Principia College delighted the home crowd in the first 3:30 of the game with a 15-3 run but in the end suffered a disappointing 73-65 loss to MacMurray College.
After the speedy start Prin ended up down 36-32 at half but came out with another quick run to begin the second half to go up 40-36. The game was a back and forth game up until about midway through the second half. MacMurray maintained a 6-8 point lead througout the rest of the game from that point on.
MacMurray got a career night from 6'8" center, Marc Randle, who was 7-8 from the floor. Randle ended up with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Principia was lead by Todd Zimmerman's 15 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds. Prin's Sam Douglas lead all scorers with 21. Colin Angle and Stanley Beal also scored in double figures with 10 points apiece. Beal leads the conference in shooting accuracy, hitting .676 percent from the floor. The Panthers hit 50% of their shots tonight but were outrebounded 40-26.
Prin is now 2-5 in conference play and travels to Eureka College this Saturday.
