Women's soccer opens SLIAC Conference play with convincing victory over MacMurray

ELSAH, ILL. -- Panthers open SLIAC Conference play in women's soccer at home with a convincing 5-0 victory. Hanna Mehring scored the first goal in the 8th minute on an assist from Alicia Girbes-Pierce. In the 20th minute Mehring tallied an unassisted goal. Leticia Dias closed out the first half scoring from a Mehring assist.

In the second half Kristen Crandell scored here first goal of the season assisted by Cristina Post and Rachel Publicover. Five minutes later Crandell returned the favor and assisted Publicover. Murilla King and Katie Clark recorded the shutout in goal.

Principia's Panthers next play in Greenville, Ill. on Tuesday against the Panthers of Greenville College. Principia brings a 6-3 overall record into the game as Coach Ellis looks for his 200th victory at the helm of the women's soccer program.
