Women's soccer beats Blackburn College 9-0

ELSAH, ILL.--  The women played Blackburn College today and won 9-0.  Nine different players scored the goals.  Freshman, Nadine Marczi opened up the scoring in the first 11 minutes of the game with a header goal, crossed in by Kristen Crandall, this would also mark Marczi's first goal of the season.  Principia would score two more goals in the first half.  Hayley MacWilliams scored the second goal and Rachel Publicover scored the third goal off of a free kick.


The second half Principia had six players score.  Crandall with a header goal from a cross by Cristina Post, Carlie Sanderude off of a deflection in the box, Alicia Girbes-Pierce once again assisted by Post, Megan Carothers with a solid rip just inside the 18 yard box, Lauren Wienecke dribbled coast to coast to rip a shot low into the corner and finally Kenzie Keller with a solid shot inside the 18 yard box.  


The "Lunch Pail" award was given to Brie Mayer for her tenacity and hard play and the "Golden Boot" award was given to Crandall for her header goal in the second half.   

The women will turn around and play the Alumni tomorrow at 12pm and then at 4:30pm Monday against Grinnell College.
