Women's tennis remains undefeated in conference, taking Eureka 9-0

ELSAH, ILL. -- The Lady Panthers defeated Eureka College 9-0 in their second conference victory. The women played a very deliberate match, executing the strategy they have been developing in preseason practice. Blackburn came shorthanded bringing only four players to the match. Principia sat out their 2 doubles and 2 singles to provide match experience for 3 doubles and 5 singles.

The improvement in Courtney Banko's play this year is marked by comparing last year's match score against the same opponent with this year. Last year Courtney defeated Rianna Ruffe 6-1, 7-6 in a match marked by long rallies, this year she closed out her opponent with aggressive approach shots beating her 6-0, 6-1.

Tomorrow's non conference match against Illinois Wesleyan should be a challenge for the players. However with some good wins under their belt the Panthers are confident and ready to come out with the win. The match begins at 4:30 p.m. at Morey Tennis Courts.
