ELSAH, ILL -- Junior captain Greg Ball pitched a gem tonight to get the Principia baseball team back in the win column with a score of 11-1. Greg pitched a no-hit shutout through seven brilliant innings before reaching his pitch count and having to turn the ball over to the bullpen. This was perhaps Greg's finest outing of his college career. He had 11 strikeouts and only one walk in route to his fourth victory of the season.
Offensively, Senior captain Matt Bowman stole the show in the late innings. His last two times up to bat he smashed two monster homeruns to leftfield. Bowman's final homerun sealed the deal and ended the game by the 10-run rule.
Spencer Brown also collected two hits, while Alan Cheatham added three hits of his own. The Panthers play again tomorrow at noon for a doubleheader against Eureka College.
