Men's soccer wins battle of basement dwellers

Box Score ELSAH, ILL. --  The Principia men's soccer team opened their SLIAC conference account by shutting out Eureka college 4-0 on a sunny saturday afternoon to earn their second win of the season in a battle of 1-8 team.  This was truly a tale of two struggling teams.  The Panthers however found a way to get the result.  Scorers for the Panthers were Nate Waters who tallied his second of the season while also assisting on the third goal.  Waters goal came from an assist from freshman Ben Stolfa.  Leif Carlson also scored his second of the season after taking a rebound from Waters attempt before unleashing a screamer to double the lead.  Freshman Richard Bonsi opened his collegiate scoring account with a rifled shot from the right side and he later followed that effort with his second of the game following a neat interchange with Gustavo Batista.  The Panthers now travel to Fontbonne for their second conference match of the season on Tuesday night for an 8:15 pm game.
