Principia Women's Tennis Team wins 1-7 singles and 1-3 doubles against Missouri Baptist University on day one of Principia's second women's tournament of the 2013 season. Against Truman, the women win four of the eight singles matches.
In the second round of matches against Division II Truman State University,
Carlie Sanderude played an exciting third set tie-breaker that went to 17-15 before Carlie came to net for match point. In this tie-breaker the Truman player led 8-3, needing only 2 points to close out the match, that is when Carlie played with grit and did not allow her opponent to take the match
At #3 singles
Kelly Adams was also stretched to a third set tie-breaker, which she won 11-9.
Hanne Andersen, playing #4 singles won both of her matches with strong aggressive forehands which she hit for outright winners or they forced her opponent into errors. Her scores against MBU were 6-0, 6-0 and against her Truman opponent she only lost two games, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Olivia Ikuma, playing #5 singles, also dominated play and beat her opponents 6-1 in all four of the singles sets she played.
Sarah Corbitt, #2 singles,
Justine Roy #6 singles, and Christina Andersen #7 singles all won their first singles matches.
