Box Score 2 Elsah, Illinois
Principia – 8        MacMurray – 4

This was a nice solid effort by the team.  All facets of the game did well, they hit, played solid defense and got the pitching they needed.  The team came out strong with 2 runs in the 1
st inning and scored in 4 of the 6 innings they batted in thus keeping the pressure on MacMurray.  The defense looked better in this one and in particular
Casey Lee made an outstanding catch in CF.  On the mound
Devon Harrison worked her way through the 1
st few innings then settled in and shut the door in the 6
th and 7
th innings.
On offense the team did a much better job of getting hits with runners in scoring position, thus the 8 runs they put up on the board.
Christine Nacewicz and
Marianna Distel each had a hit and while Marianna had an RBI, Christine knocked in 3 runs for the team.
Kelsey Whitney continued her season of being a human target by getting hit by a pitch 3 times in this game putting her on base to score 2 runs.  She stole a base and had 1 RBI.
Casey Lee was 2 for 4 and scored 2 runs.  The big game went to
Thanda Kyaw who went 4 for 4 with a triple, 2 stolen bases and scored 4 runs.

Principia – 4        MacMurray – 3
This was an exciting game that went back and forth between the two teams.  MacMurray struck first with 2 runs in the 2
nd and Principia answered with 3 in the 3
rd.  MacMurray tied the game in the 5
th setting the stage for Principia to score the game winner in the bottom of the 7
th.
The defense was really sharp in this game and played perhaps its best game of the season.
Devon Harrison made several outstanding plays at SS while
Thanda Kyaw made a diving catch in CF.
Casey Lee battled her way through this one keeping the game close only giving up 5 hits and then closed out the game with a strong 6
th and 7
th inning.
The offense had another solid game and there was hitting all the way through the line up in this one as the team got 10 hits.
Tess Schloemer was 1 for 3 with a double and scored a run.
Devon Harrison went 1 for 4 but her hit was the game winning RBI.
Thanda Kyaw,
Christine Nacewicz,
Jocelyn Shoemake and
Marianna Distel all got 2 hits in the game.  Thanda continued her outstanding offensive night with another triple, a stolen base and scored 2 runs, the last of which was the game winner.
