Panther baseball comes up short against Greenville College

Box Score GREENVILLE, ILL. -- Scott Ross pitched a tough game Tuesday night against Greenville College.  With 7 games in the final week of the season pitching is at a premium for the Panthers and Scott picked up his team going the distance in the loss. Scott came out dealing for the first 7 innings striking out 6 and headed into the 8th inning down 3-1. With the tank on empty Scott continued to compete, but the Greenville hitters took advantage and put up 8 runs in the inning to open the game up. Scott has made huge strides this season and has been the Panthers' most consistent pitcher throughout.

The Panthers infield defense made plays throughout the game, but other areas of defense struggled. Offensively the Panther could only muster 4 hits and 1 run against 6 Greenville hurlers. Gavin Thomas paced the offense with a double, and Spencer Clevenger, Scott Ross, and David McClelland each collected a hit.

The Panthers are back in action at home Thursday May 2nd when they take on Westminster College at 6 pm. The Panthers will honor their two seniors Zack Becker and Robert Barnalce. Come cheer on the seniors and the rest of the Panthers!
