Elsah, Ill. - This afternoon the Principia College women's basketball team faced the Red Devils of Eureka College in their first home game in the new year.  Facing a tough conference opponent, the Lady Panthers struggled to find an offensive rhythm until well into the 1st half, and despite some flashes of solid basketball throughout the game were unable to keep the score close.  Defensively Principia showed some heart, particularly through the play of freshman forward Isabella Perea who helped inspire the Panthers to some great stops.  Ultimately the offensive woes were too great to overcome, but Principia saw some great contributions from every player on the roster.

The Panthers will next turn their sights to conference opponent Westminster College on Thursday, January 23rd.  The game will be played in Fulton, MO and is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
