Box Score ELSAH, ILL. -- Saturday afternoon the Loras Duhawks traveled to Principia for a non-conference matchup between the men's basketball teams. Loras came out on top by the score of 87 to 53. Principia could not find the basket, shooting just 15 for 52 from the field for the evening. Loras on the other hand was red hot from the start, making 32 of 61 attempts. Loras also won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding the panthers 47 to 21.
Kenny Sydness led the Panthers with 13 points.
Matt Jones contributed 10, and
Damon Wilgus had nine with two late threes and three consecutive free throws. This was Principia's first game back after a three week lay off for semester break. Their next game will be a conference matchup with Webster University on Tuesday night at home. Tipoff will be at 8:00.
