Box Score MT. PLEASANT, IA.-- Thursday night, Principia College traveled to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa for a conference game against the Tigers of Iowa Wesleyan. Although Principia jumped out to an early lead, IWC came back to take a 13 point lead into the locker room at half time. Principia fought back to recapture the lead at the ten minute mark of the second half. As Principia heated up in the second half, Iowa Wesleyan began to cool. Principia extended their lead to 12 before IWC made their last run and cut the lead to 4 with a minute and a half to go. Iowa Wesleyan had to go to the foul game and Principia was able to hold on for the victory.
Justin Ball led a well balanced attack for Principia with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Kenny Sydness had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Larry Patterson and
Matt Jones each had 15 points. Principia will next travel to Blackburn College for a conference game on Saturday afternoon, tip-off 3:00 pm.
