Panthers Defeat Eureka College 8-5 and then fall 20-19 in game 2

Eureka, IL.-

The Panthers defeated Eureka College in 8-5 in game 1 and then dropped game 2 in a slugfest 20-19 in 10 innings. In game one Senior Luke Ball got the start and pitched a complete game earning the 8-5 victory. Luke pitched a strong game and was in control throughout the game.

Game two was a slugfest as the Panthers jumped up big leading at one point 13-3. The Panthers pitchers and defense was unable to hold the lead as Eureka stormed back. The Red Devils took the lead heading into the 9th inning 18-17. The Panthers stormed back with two runs in the 9th to regain the lead, but it was short lived as Eureka tied up the game at 19-19. The game headed into extra innings and Eureka quickly had runners on 1st and 2nd. The Red Devils hit a deep double to centerfield that Ed Bargmann came close to catching and ended up being the game winner.

The Panthers are back in action Friday April 25th when they take on Blackburn College at 3pm in Carlinville, IL and then the Panthers will celebrate senior night Saturday April 26th in between the two games. Come celebrate the Panthers three seniors Scott Ross, Spencer Clevenger, and Luke Ball. Game time is set for 1:00 and 3:00pm.
