Ed Bargmann led off the game with a single and moved over to second on a bunt.
Hunter Mehring and
Christian Thomas walked to load the bases.
Scott Ross singled in the first run and
Dallen Russell hit a two run double. The Panthers added a run on a balk in the second inning.
Luke Ball cruised through the first four innings as the Panthers held a 4-0 lead. Greenville College struck for 5 runs in the fifth as starter Luke Ball struggled with his command walking four batters and hitting one. Down 5-4 in the top of the 6
th the Panthers tied up the game on an RBI single by
Connor Coyne. Greenville College answered with a solo homerun to lead off the 6
th inning and added a second run to retake the lead 7-5.
The Panthers mounted a comeback in the top of the 7
th as
Spencer Clevenger singled to lead off the inning. Spencer stole second, which tied him for the Principia College single season steal record at 22.
Gavin Thomas doubled down the left field line.
Hunter Mehring hit into a line drive double play and Greenville's closer was able to get the third out.
In game two Greenville College got off to a fast start plating four runs in the second to take a 4-0 lead. The Panthers answered with two runs in the 3
rd. Luke Ball led off with a single and
Ed Bargmann drove him in with a RBI single.
Christian Thomas drove in the second run of the inning.
Greenville College answered with three runs in the 4
th to take a 7-2 lead. The Panthers answered with two runs in the fifth.
Spencer Clevenger led off the inning and was hit by a pitch. Spencer then stole second base to break Principia single season steal record with his 23
rd stolen base.
Hunter Mehring single in the first run of the inning and then
Christian Thomas singled in the second run to cut the lead to 7-4.
Greenville would answer with two runs in the fifth and then would break the game open with 5 runs over the next three innings.
Sawyer Grow got the start for the Panthers going five innings.
Dallen Russell came in relief in the 6
th and
Ed Bargmann pitched the 7
th inning.
