Box Score Fulton, MO. -- Preparation, resilience, execution, victory! The Panthers were prepared with a game plan and they followed it well. Game one tipped to the Bluejays 25-22. In game two the Panthers struggled to pass the tough Westminster serves, and they also committed too many serving errors, as well straying from the game plan. Never give up on this group of women though! Never. After losing game two horribly at 14-25, the Panthers reeled it back in, getting back on point with their own skills and their competitive team work as well. Game three went to the Panthers 25-23. Game four the Panthers looked sharper than ever, and controlled the game from beginning to end winning 25-20. Game five found the Panthers gasping for air as they went down 5-9, but they built back their power and intention and spirit as they caught the Bluejays and went on to win the deciding game 15-12.
Principia had a well rounded offense with
Emily Tippetts,
Sophia Hathaway and
Nikki Matters sharing the load, with Nikki hitting .400 on the night.
Mia Gill stepped up defensively picking up 23 digs, and the squad had a nice presence at the net with Emily,
Sara Stephenson,
Noelle Shoemake, and Sophia blocking Bluejay balls. The Panther ball control team of Sophia,
Cha Cha Fisher,
Amanda Roberts, Nikki and Mia were an inspiration as they came back from a little dip better than ever, and filled with conviction.
It was a beautiful example of teamwork, and looking into each other's eyes to demand and encourage their very best. Nice work women!
