Box Score Elsah, IL--Â It was senior day on Saturday and the women's team brought home the win against Eureka to honor our two seniors,
Rachel Perea and
Katie Swarts. Both these women have given a lot to the women's program and the program has benefited from their leadership and dedication for the past four years. Eureka only showed to the game with nine players which made the Principia team start with nine as well. In the first half, it was a shooting frenzy with the panthers taking 26 shots and scoring eight in the first half. Senior, Perea opened up the scoring three minutes into the game with the first goal, assisted by freshman,
Chrissy Fredrikson and junior,
Clarice Bruch. Four minutes later, junior
Emelie Fredrikson scored, assisted by sophomore Madi Arens and Perea. One minute later, Bruch capitalized on an unassisted shot. The scoring continued for the rest of the half with Perea scoring once again and sophomore
Taylor MacIntire scoring two and freshman
Brittany Ouellette scoring two goals. The half ended with the panthers ahead 8-0. Â
In the second half, the panthers scored two more goals, one by senior
Katie Swarts and one by junior Alex Weitman. The game finished with the panthers beating Eureka 10-0.Â
The women will travel to Blackburn College tomorrow for their second to last conference game. They play at 1pm.  Â
